Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers: Administration I

This course covers how to install and configure Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers, create backup policies, run backup jobs, and create and run restore jobs. Students will learn tape configuration and media rotation methods, as well as how to troubleshoot Backup Exec.

This course also covers advanced functions of Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers, such as configuring advanced settings, managing the Backup Exec database, and using Remote Agents to protect Windows, Linux, and UNIX servers.

This course is for system administrators, system engineers, technical support personnel, consultants, network administrators, backup administrators, backup operators, and others who will be responsible for installing, configuring, and administering Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers.

Prerequisites

You should have working knowledge of administration and configuration of the Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 platforms, and you should have experience configuring server software and hardware. Knowledge of domain security and experience with Active Directory are recommended. Knowledge of MS-SQL Server is beneficial, but not necessary.
