This training course will provide you with the best opportunity to development your project management career by being one of a few that truly understand the implications and the mechanisms of using Agile DSDM Atern and PRINCE2 together. This course will take you beyond the text books and syllabus of the methods' accreditation courses.

Agile and PRINCE2 are industry proven project management methods. They sit at polar ends of the control scale with the flexible, light touch Agile project management at one end and the controlled, disciplined environment of a PRINCE2 project at the other. So how do we get them to work together? And, perhaps more importantly, why would we want to do so?

Agile has escaped the confines of the technical community and is now on the business agenda of all progressive companies. Increasingly, organisations that use PRINCE2, PMI and other traditional approaches to Project Management are seeking to benefit from the introduction of Agile methods. It may at first appear that there is an incompatibility between Agile and PRINCE2, PMI and similar methods and it is true that using them together is not straightforward. However the potential benefits of applying the methods together are huge and when applied correctly the strengths of both can be harnessed to give great returns.

This course considers the Agile approach (DSDM Atern) and examines the issues, risks and benefits of implementing Agile alongside PRINCE2, PMI and similar traditional methods. You will participate in workshops and discussions that will enable you to understand the methods and how best to implement them together. You will acquire the necessary skills to analyse your own project environment and consider the optimum mix of these methods.

Target Audience:

This course will benefit anyone with an interest in recognising the benefits of using Agile with PMI, PRINCE2 or traditional Project Management. Attendees will include Project Managers and team members from both Agile and traditional projects, Project Sponsors and other Project Board members, Project Assurance and Project Support staff and those responsible for delivering the products.

Whilst there are no specific prerequisites for this course there is an assumption that the delegate is working in a PRINCE2 environment.
